I saw my 1st ereader yesterday

I've been reading reviews, comparing prices etc etc but I still hadn't actually seen an ereader in the flesh until last night on the plane coming back from Spain. It was a Kindle 2 and it looked rather sweet. I believe the owner was Spanish but he seemed a little uncomfortable at being cornered on the plane by a complete stranger. The really weird thing was that he was reading Don Quixote in English!

Perhaps because in our wonderful world, that e-book is only available in English....

Don Quixote seems to be a standard delivered on all new e-readers But I got a French version on my Opus. Don't remember if there was a Spanish version though, I didn't look because I don't read Spanish.

I've seen a Kindle 2 in public 3 times I think--twice on flights, once a neighbor at my old place sitting outside reading.

Saw someone reading on an iPad in a large meeting the other day as well.

Except for my own ereader, I have never seen any ereaders in the "wild".

I see them on the metro fairly regularly, though not daily. Well, except if I count people reading on their iPhone/iPod.

And I sometimes get inquiries about mine. I have never had so many conversations with complete strangers

I saw a wild iPad the other day, but they were just playing with it, showing it off to family while in line at the BBQ place, no reading. Mine and my friend's daughter's are the only two I know of being used in our area. (But I don't get out much either )

I've seen a couple of Kindles, and a Barnes & Noble Nook in addition to the eBook readers which associates and family have purchased.

My wife has one (JetBook Lite, like mine), so I see that every day.

I've seen a handful of others out there as well. One of my students brought in an Ipad today. eh...

I have only seen another Jetbook (actually JBL) once in my travels. The woman had made a case for it from a photo album.

I do show mine off to anyone who asks...

I haven't either. Actually, I've never seen my own in the wild either. Mine never leaves the house.
