Request, if possible: An option that makes tapping a book in the list open the menu rather than automatically opening the book. This is to prevent accidental opening of read books.

I saw on GitHub that somebody posted a PR to fix the patch that blocks firmware updates:
https://github.com/pgaskin/kobopatch-patches/pull/137 The patch targets a link to api.kobobooks.com to stop the firmware update check from working. The notes in libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml warn that the patch is dangerous, as it can cause a boot loop if you do a factory reset. If we know what the update URL is, would it be equally effective to redirect api.kobobooks.com in the hosts file to block firmware updates without the bootloop risk associated with the patch, or would that cause negative side effects? The only reference to api.kobobooks.com in libnickel.so.1.0.0 seems to be for the update check. |

Patch request: move the reading progress bar all the way to the bottom (so it touches the bottom of the screen).

Patch request: letter-spacing setting for reading header/footer (uppercase text usually looks better with looser letter-spacing).
Sorry, I couldn't edit my previous post. |

Some more patch requests:
1. Setting to always trigger page refresh after exiting out of highlighting, adding a note, consulting the dictionary, etc. This would remove most ghosting I see on Kobo Clara BW. 2. Make text-align:left the default in Kepubs. I tried modifying "KePub stylesheet additions - text justify" in libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml —I didn't get an error, but it didn't make any difference. |

2. Why not just set the Aa menu to left justify? |

At one time, when I tried using the Aa menu to set left justify, it overrode justification in the kepub so headings, images, etc. all ended up left justified. For me, it was just easier to set text-align: left; in the <body> in the CSS stylesheet.

Yeah, the dictionary forces a refresh on the next page turn, presumably to save power if you need to look up multiple words on the same page. If you already force a refresh on every page turn, then this would not be apparent. There's no setting to force a refresh every time you close the dictionary pop-up window.

There is a patch Don't uppercase header/footer text:. I don't know of it currently works on the latest firmware for the Clara BW. But you can try it.

You also have to delete all text-align: justify; in the CSS.

2. Because it messes with the alignment of other elements, such as subtitles. So I have to modify the ebooks to set p { text-align: left; }. Quote:
Thanks for the tip, but it doesn't work on the latest firmware. However, I really like how uppercase looks, but just wish it wasn't as tight as it is. |
