My reader has a quick blink when power button is pressed and I suspect a faulty SD card.

Thanks for your help

You may want to check the Memory Upgrade Mod Guide (With Pictures) thread, a message How I did it On My Kobo touch (Using MAC) and Hacking the Kobo Clara HD – 1: Hacking the internal microSD storage for some help with writing an image. Several other Mac users have reported that using Balena Etcher worked well for them.
