I have no car, so all those parking woes are terra incognita to me.

I don't have a car either and there are no parking lots at the stores here. I walked from home with a cane and if I go far outside of my neighborhood, I take the subway or bus. For food shopping I take a wheeled bag (my cart that I use for dropping off laundry is too unwieldy to use for anything else) and don't buy more than the bag will hold.

I'm curious about your 'wheeled bag', the ones I've tried are designed to be pulled, which works against my use of a cane to prevent falling. BR |

I supposedly have several Amazon packages coming on July 1st... which is a holiday here in Canada. Wonder how that'll go.

There's a playground opposite our new house. We heard from a neighbour that it is meant for children up to aged 4. But they recently installed a new webbed swing and kids all ages are using it. In the evening often a bunch of teens come together to chat and hang out.
Interestingly the teens aren't causing any problems. They just hang out, chat and film each other on the swing. Yesterday morning at 6.30 am someone let their kids out to play on the playground. Normally not a huge problem, but these kids were screaming and screeching. I, and I suspect the other neighbours, don't appreciate being woken that early on a Sunday morning. I suspect it were the kids from two doors down from us. When they are outside in the afternoon playing it often involves being loud. During the day I don't care much, but not on a Sunday morning when I had planned to have a lazy morning. |

I had a package delivered by Amazon around 11AM PDT. Oddly, it was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday. Usual no doorbell, no knock, just the package left by the front door.

For what it matters, the last package just got dropped off a half-hour ago. I hope the drivers got paid overtime.

Mine is a different color. Bought on Amazon in 2017, but they no longer have it. Olympia's site doesn't have it. If I didn't have this, I might try a Whole Foods wheeled grocery tote. I pull it with my right hand and use my cane with my left hand. Last edited by pdurrant; 07-03-2024 at 03:53 AM. Reason: replaced short url |

I'm likely to topple over backwards if I pull anything that has a bit of weight… I know this from putting the rubbish bins out. The products designed to be pushed (4 wheels) that look like they might survive the goat-tracks I have to negotiate are too expensive to buy without a test drive. See here https://www.rolser.com/en/rolser-ima...ul/imx362-1026 I choose this one because I can push it, so my posture while walking is better than having the arm twisted behind me to pull it, and the swiveling wells are great, I find that the heavier it is the easiest it is to push, and I find it easier to make the transition from the road to the sidewalk pushing then pulling. Two additional things I like about it , the wells are soft rubber so they make less noise then the ones that are hard plastic, and it folds nicely so it can be stored easily and I can take it inside the store hanging on my shopping cart. They are not cheap but they are totally worth the money, in my opinion. |

I found some closer stockists, but they're out of stock of everything from that company. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 07-04-2024 at 01:24 AM. |
