Connect a real keyboard
Would it be possible to connect a real keyboard to the DR1000 and be able to type notes instead of only writing?

Possibly, but not easily. There's a long thread here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47432 speaking of how to enable the USB port to act as a host for other devices, such as a keyboard. It ends inconclusive.
