"Cool-er" E-Reader will Jugend ansprechen
Ich hab gerade diesen Pressetext vom Cool-er gefunden. Einige verwirrende Aussagen sowie nicht viel Neues hier.
Interessant, dass Interead mit dem Cool-er auf die Jugend abzielt. Meiner Meinung nach nicht sonderlich erfolgversprechend, da einer Meinungsumfrage in den Staaten nach die Besitzer von Lesegeräten durchschnittlich über 35 sind. Aber vielleicht tun sich da ja ganz neue Märkte auf. Hoffen wir nur, dass die Firmware nicht zu buggy wird und "easy to use". Interessant ist zudem, dass im Pressetext zwar auf Kindle und Bebook eingegangen wird, aber der Cybook als direktestes Konkurrenzgerät wird nicht einmal in einem Nebensatz erwähnt. Letztes interessantes Detail ist die nähere Beschreibung des coolerbooks-Shops, der in drei "regionale" Shops aufgeteilt werden soll und noch einmal werden die fabulösen 750.000 Titel ins Feld geführt, die ich für absolut übertrieben halte. Danke für den Link. Ich halte die Erschließung Jugendlicher als neue Zielgruppe für Lesegeräte übrigens für überhaupt nicht abwegig. Mittlerweile gibt es doch schon so viele Lesegeräte zur Auswahl, dass es für die Hersteller eine Überlegung wert ist, sich ihre spezielle Nische zu suchen und ihr Produkt genau da zu vermarkten. Und eben nicht mit allen anderen um das Gros der eher schwammig definierten Zielgruppe technisch interessierter Leser zu buhlen.

Ich bin zwar seit Oktober `08 achtzehn und damit erwachsen, aber da ich noch in die Schule (Gymnasium, 12.) gehe, bin ich mal so frei, mich als Jugendlichen auszugeben. Ich bin soweit ich das Überblicke bei 1200 Schülern der einzige mit E-Reader und die Kommentare sind recht eintönig: "Brauch ich nicht/will ich nicht/für den Preis schon gar nicht"
In meiner Schule lesen geschätzt keine 50% mehr Lektüren sondern Wikipedia-Zusammenfassungen, daheim ein Buch lesen ist nicht viel häufiger anzutreffen. Selbst Zeitunglesen ist selten (Sportteil mal ausgenommen) Von daher bin ich da ehrlich gesagt auch ein wenig skeptisch, dass im Alter vor der Uni die Readerdichte einen ernstzunehmenden Wert erreichen wird. (Readerdichte, was für ein Wort) PS.: Einer meiner Schulkameraden findet Reader sogar interessant, für die Hälfte der augenblicklichen Preise würde er sich's überlegen, das war die "beste" Antwort die ich bis jetzt gehört hab. Ich bin noch 17 , also wohl auch noch in der Jugendlichen Zielgruppe drinnen. Ich bin in der 12. Klasse Gymnasium und die meisten meiner Mitschüler lesen überhaupt nicht. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen dass da eine besonders große Zielgruppe errreicht wird. Ich bin im Deutsch-Leistungskurs und lese extrem viel (muss mir jetzt wohl mal ein neues Bücherregal kaufen). Der Kurs ist jedoch extrem klein und die meisten holen auch hier ihre Informationen aus Wikipedia. Manche geben sogar damit an noch nie von selbst ein Buch gelesen zu haben. Traurig, ich finde jedes Buch ist besser als dieser ganze Schmarrn der im Fernsehen kommt.

Nein, Jugendliche als Zielgruppe für E-Ink Reader zu interessieren, dürfte wenig fruchten. Bei einem Preis unter 100.- Euro, mit einem Display in Farbe und der Möglichkeit, Videos abzuspielen ... vielleicht.
Aber dafür gibt's Netbooks. Auch in einer Präsentation von Bookeen wurden als Käuferschicht lesefreudige Kunden 35+ mit gutem Einkommen definiert. Auch das iPhone - das wohl noch deutlich mehr "Coolness" haben dürfte, wird vor allem von Erwachsenen genutzt. Ich habe noch nie einen Jugendlichen damit gesehen (Josch91, du bist da der erste). Gut, beim iPhone liegt's an den Tarifen. Aber das ist ja das grundsätzliche Problem. Genügend Jugendliche haben entsprechend viel Geld flüssig - aber geben sie es tatsächlich für ein Lesegerät und teure Buchtitel aus? Eher unwahrscheinlich. |

Leute, das ist ja vernichtend, was Ihr da sagt. Und ich dachte, die Jugend liest wieder mehr (keine Ahnung mehr, welche Studie das war.....). Gut, dass wir wenigstens hier offensichtlich ein paar junge Leser haben

Das weniger Lesen ist nicht nur ein Problem der Jugend, befürchte ich.
Viele meiner Arbeitskollegen lesen, aber die haben auch das Geld und die Zeit für Bücher; von den anderen Leuten, die ich so kenne, liest nichtmal ein Drittel. Die Aufmerksamkeitsspanne unserer Mitmenschen sinkt doch durch Reizüberflutung in TV und Internet in den sprichwörtlichen Keller... |

Das gefährliche an Wikipeda ist, wenn man hier einen Artikel über ein Buch liest, weiß man bedeutend mehr als wenn man das Buch selbst liest. Meist sogar mehr als der Lehrer.

Natürlich nicht. Aber wenn man als Schüler ein Buch lesen muss, dass einen überhaupt nicht interessiert, liest man es auch nicht wirklich genau, oder eben überhaupt nicht.

Ach, früher hat's ja auch gereicht, sich sein "Buch" in der Videothek auszuleihen, wenn man es in der Schule besprechen musste.
