How many of us could setup calibre like we have it now if we lost our settings? I cannot say all that I have set.

A rather odd popup when I connected my Sage to calibre this morning. I checked the version file and it looks okay. A second connection and firmware check did not show the popup. A one off?

I have backups of my calibre configs and I also keep a file with text and screenshots of my settings.

I have backups as well. Without if something happened, I'd be in trouble.

I didn't find that, neither in Kobo Utilities' Configure Plugin nor Configure current Driver - KoboTouchExtended.
Update Metadata is a menu item when the Kobo is connected AND you select the Library, not the device. Threw me as well when I started looking for it.

And, DNSB, selecting all books for Update Metadata works as well -- it'll report on how many books didn't get updated. When you have thousands of books, you try to cut the work to what's actually needed.

Given that my main library currently has ~16,000 books in it, I just find it easier to control-A and update metadata than trying to select books scattered through the library. I my Intake library, I tend to select only the needed books but that is a lot fewer books since the books are moved to Main after I am happy with the covers/metadata/editing.

For those who might be interested, I've attached screenshots of the KoboUtilities base menu when no device, device present and library selected and device present and device selected.

What I do is sort the library so all the books on the Libra 2 are together. I select all of them, and then do what I need/want.

In my library, I use Reading List and a send-to-device list, which updates #kobostatus to identify those books as such.

After it's imported to the device database. I run an action chain on it for some regular setup (uploading covers, updating ToCs, pre-setting the font).

I use Reading List to mark which books are on my Libra 2. I have a custom Y/N column for this.
