Even though I’m the first in line for every new vaccination, I tumbled off the novid list a few months ago. Paradoxically, the experience led me to stop wearing n95 masks in public.

Mum and Dad had the first Pfizer (I think?) shot, Dad ended up in hospital soon after (having never been hospitalised in 70 odd years before this point), they've had no more shots since.

I developed a scratchy throat last night -- that's it, no fever, no other symptoms. I actually feel pretty good but, out of an abundance of caution, I decided to take a COVID test.

It came out positive. It's the weakest positive I've ever seen -- I had to hold it up to the light and squint, but there is a very, very faint line on the substrate.

The current dominant strain is still a pretty close match to last year's vaccine, so I'm expecting this to be annoying but not too serious. Knock on wood.
