Thanks for the answer.
Damn it
LibraSync is the only reason I jailbreaked my KOA2. To be able to manage collections through Calibre. Without that, it's a complete mess on the e-reader.

Well I’m a bit confused as in your message you were asking about the “last kindle PW”, which I understood to be the 2024 Paperwhite. If your question was actually about the Oasis 2 (i.e. the 9th gen one) then it’s very different, as the last firmware supported by this device is in fact 5.16.2.1.1; this means all the original packages, including python and LibrarianSync, should work fine on your Oasis.

No, I probably didn't make myself clear. I recently jailbroke (jailbreaked?) my KOA2, with no worries, indeed. Everything works, especially LibraSync.

While I was reluctantly eyeing the kobo, here comes a new jailbreak, supporting the new kindle models. So I said to myself that I was finally going to renew my Oasis2,
which is starting to show its age.

But until LibraSync and/or python are ported, I'll wait. Hoping that Amazon won't update its new range to a new firmware that won't be jailbreakable again.

Aah I get it now! Indeed if this is a purchasing criteria then it’s better to wait, or if you’re technically inclined you can have a look at crazyelectron’s post here, where he shares his experience with compiling python for hardfloat firmwares.

Very interesting, thank you!
I think LS requires Python2 too. On my KOA2 I had only put python3 at the beginning, naively thinking that all the tools had been adapted to python3 these days. But that wasn't enough.
I'm going to look into it, and if worst comes to worst, I'll wait.
