That's long even by Peter F. Hamilton's standards. His Night's Dawn trilogy clocked in at 955, 999 and 1,174 pages respectively.

No. I know that at one point it was published as a three volume edition in a slipcase. But I don't know if any major changes to the book.

It's really good. I don't care for horror, but I didn't mind those aspects of it much. Some of the scifi stuff in there is absolutely mind-boggling and was a lot of fun.

FYI this is the "author's preferred text" that contains recent revisions. Shannon originally wrote these at a young age and didn't think it was up to par.

Often titles available in UK are not available at all on Kobo Ireland.
Sometimes UK is cheaper, only rarely is Ireland cheaper. It's mysterious. Picking Ireland or UK for ebooks is simple, but to buy an ereader you need to pick where you are able to get a delivery. UK site mysteriously has far more refurbished models than Irish site. Irish physical shipping from Kobo is from the Netherlands. UK invoices in Sterling issued from Dublin, Ireland. Very odd.
