One thing to keep in mind "resell" script on 11th gen Kindle's also requires the device to be currently charging, so don't unplug the USB cable. Not sure if the same is the case for 10th gen (like your PW4).
It has been almost a year since I've read that script when I wanted to test returning a Kindle back into "shipping mode".

I try it now,my Kindle after chosing chinese language rebooted and shown logs of Jailbreaking.
But after that it show an error, and then white screen, not responsive to touch. I had to forcefully reboot it to English (seems like demo mode), all before applying hot fix.
Applied hot fix TWICE, (mkk folder was here first time but no MRPI after ;log mrpi command), now there is no mkk folder and no mrpi.

On the other PW4 with firmware 5.16.2.1.1 after apllying hotfix 2 times, it seems that mkk catalog is available but ;log mrpi shown no MRPI installed.
Restarted and still MRPI not installed.
So I don't know what to do, did I jailbroken or not?

Seems that now another PW4 is in the same state, mkk folder is available, no MRPI

I see both are in managed mode, how to get out? Typing ;demo on one ask if I want go to demo mode, on another it shows menu with Resell

You need to ;demo, when asked to enter ;demo mode you click Yes
I literally read that entering ;demo and pushing right will restart Kindle.

You "install" MRPI manually by downloading it, unpacking the zip archive and moving both "extensions" and "mrpackages" folders into "root" level of Kindle drive.

Hotfix only "installs"/adds the search bar command " ;log mrpi" that calls/runs the MRPI installer script... but you still need to add that script (that resides inside /extensions/MRPI or whatever).

I tried all day today, it just deletes or puts away fixes Bin files and so on, it removes everything(

No, there is currently no working public jailbreak method for the latest firmwares. The last jailbreakable version is 5.16.2.1.1.

I dont know what happens but both my Kindles have no mkk folder but responded to ;log mrpi after install mrpi

Disregard it, its jailbroken after installing MRPI and KUAL I can confirm

Did you exit out of that managed mode or are you like many people before you installing KUAL while still in managed mode?

Thanks so much for the work y'all do. Made it less painful to buy a kindle now that the Libra 2 has been discontinued.

I ran into an issue with step 14 of the jailbreak as the device wouldn't safely eject in windows. The files copied, so I simply unplugged and continued through the instructions. After choosing the Chinese language, and restarting I got the log messages indicating a successful jailbreak, but it booted into English. After getting past the setup screens I was stuck in a managed mode where no commands were recognized in the search bar. I was able to resolve by holding down the power button until it rebooted. After that I was able get use the ;uzb command and get the hotfix transferred and applied.

Update: I have figured out what the problem is and my Scribe have been successfully jailbroken. Besides, Kual is installed too. I describe what I have done, in the hope of helping other people.

1. When I copy the contents of "LanguageBreak" folder to kindle, I omit the .demo folder. This is the reason for "However, after the log message appears in step 5, my Kindle goes to Amazon Out-of-Box Experience screen with "Set up your Kindle".".
2. After step 5, I copy Marek's and NiLuJe's hotfixes to kindle. Then I do step 9 in mergen3107's turorial(such as input ;711), and hit UYK. Kindle restarts with showing Update error message, but this doesnot matter. Kindle scribe have been succsessfully jailbroken.
3. Then log in kindle using phone hotspot with mobile data to slow the speed of automatically downloading update file. Once logging in, make kindle in airplane mode, and connect kindle to PC and delete the update temporary file.
4. Now, copy MR installer to kindle, and install NiLuJe's hotfix by ;log mrpi.
5. Next, intall renameotabin and hit rename to prevent kindle from updating.

I have a Kindle Scribe with 5.16.2. It was jailbroken before, but the jailbreak was lost because I accidently hit the reset button.

I try to jailbreak my Scribe with 5.16.2 following your instructions. The step 1-5 works fine. However, after the log message appears in step 5, my Kindle goes to Amazon Out-of-Box Experience screen with "Set up your Kindle". What should I do to enter demo as described in step 5?

Besides, would you please describe how to install hotfixes in step 6? Should they installed by UYK, not by pressing the power button?

Thank you Marek very much! I ended up using your upgrade-then-downgrade approach.

Here is the summary:

0) Brand new Kindle Scribe - do not connect to network yet.
1) Check the version. Connect Kindle to PC, in File Explorer open hidden folder /system, open version.txt. If FW is 5.16.2.0.1 or earlier - you are in luck with LanguageBreak! Unplug Kindle from PC.
2) Connect to a public hotspot that requires login in a browser.
3) Kindle Browser will show up. In the address bar type ;enter_demo then hit enter on the keyboard. Restart Kindle (long-press, window pops up - restart).
4) Follor JB instructions in this thread's OP.
5) After the Chinese language selection, it will put you back to demo.
6) Do not leave demo yet, install both Marek's and NiLuJe's hotfixes first.
7) Then type ;demo then hit yes. It will ask about demo but actually let you in normal mode.
8) Here connect Kindle to PC and drop in NiLuJe's hotfix.
9) At that moment we are in the Amazon Out-of-Box Experience screen that lets you sign-in but doesn't have menus, search bars or other meaningful buttons. So, go to the Browser again as in Steps 2-3, this time type ;711 . A screen with network info will show up, but we only need to hit three dots in the corner - Update Your Kindle. I don't know if this hotfix reinstallation step is necesary, but just in case...
10) Restart Kindle Scribe TWICE. Do not sign-in anywere yet. This will make sure JB survives.
11) Sign-in to Amazon, and agree to install updates - this is the annoying part because of which I spent 26 hours in a row (with some sleep in between)
12) Once it updated, go to Airplane mode (to prevent any other updates). Goal is to NOT let happen another update OR factory restore before JB is recovered.
13) Use NiLuJe's K5 Jailbreak package, only extract emergency-bridge-recovery.zip's contents (four files) to Kindle's storage.
14) Restart Kindle, check that four packages are gone. ;log mrpi commands can be used again.
15) Install NiLuje's Hotfix via mrpi.
16) Use this script and run it with ;log runme : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=469
17) Now that FW downgrade is possible, download earlier FW version. I went with 5.16.2. "Update" Kindle normally via Update Your Kindle (UYK).
18) Then install Install NiLuje's Hotfix via mrpi or UYK.
