Later by Stephen King is $2 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo.

One of his Hard Case Crime books, so I am cross-posting here.

Quote:
SOMETIMES GROWING UP

MEANS FACING YOUR DEMONS

The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mom urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine – as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.

LATER is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King’s classic novel It, LATER is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.

Borrower of the Night: A Vicky Bliss Novel (Book 1) by Elizabeth Peters - $1.99
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FCKM6A

Quote:
A missing masterwork in wood, the last creation of a master carver who died in the violent tumult of the sixteenth century, may be hidden in a medieval German castle in the town of Rothenburg. The prize has called to art historian Vicky Bliss, drawing her and an arrogant male colleague into the forbidding citadel and its dark secrets. But the treasure hunt soon turns deadly. Here, where the blood of the long-forgotten damned stains ancient stones, Vicky must face two equally perilous possibilities. Either a powerful supernatural evil inhabits this place . . . or someone frighteningly real is willing to kill for what Vicky is determined to find.

A Chemical Prison is the second in Barbara Nadel's excellent IMO Inspector Ikmen series. It's £0.99 right now in the UK.

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007PQXPQI
Kobo UK: https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/a-c...kmen-mystery-2

Spoiler:
Quote:
Inspector Çetin Ikmen and forensic pathologist Arto Sarkissian have been friends since childhood, and their work together in Istanbul's criminal justice system has only served to cement their friendship. When they're both called to a flat to investigate the death of a twenty-year-old, there is no reason to think their relationship will alter. The case, however, is a strange one. Ikmen learns from the neighbours that they have never seen the man enter or leave the flat. The only visitor they're aware of is a solitary, well-dressed Armenian. Stranger still is that the limbs of the body are withered, and the victim seems to have been kept prisoner inside a gilded cage. What is it that's making Ikmen's old friend Arto, himself an Armenian, especially uncomfortable about the case?

Deathwatch by Robb White is $2 at Amazon, B&N and Kobo US.

I started looking for this one after enjoying the filmed version: Beyond the Reach.

Quote:
An exciting novel of suspense, based on a fight to the finish between an honest and courageous young man and a cynical business tycoon who believes that anything can be had for a price.

Dead Mile by Jo Furniss is $1 at Amazon ($5 elsewhere)

I think this one popped up here before.

Quote:
Friday afternoon, and the traffic is bloody murder.

Sergeant Belinda 'Billy' Kidd is driving home from the airport, jet-lagged and ready to resign from a career that has left her traumatised. Menopause has robbed her confidence too - now she's a traffic cop who's afraid to drive. When brake lights haemorrhage up the motorway, the cars grind to a halt. Moments later she finds a dead driver in a black sedan.

He has a metal skewer in his neck. But how? The killer can't have left the scene without being spotted by the dozens of witnesses - so he must still be there, among them. If the traffic jam stays put, they're all in danger; if the traffic clears, she'll lose her suspect. The clock is ticking, but she doesn't know how fast.

The Quick Red Fox: A Travis McGee Novel by John D. MacDonald is currently $1.99 at Amazon and Kobo.

Quote:
Sultry movie star Lysa Dean has gotten herself into a spot of blackmail, posing for naked photos while participating in a debauched party near Big Sur. If the pictures get out, Lysa’s engagement to her rich, strait-laced fiancé doesn’t stand a chance. Enter Travis McGee, who’s agreed to put a stop to the extortion, working alongside Lysa’s assistant, Dana Holtzer.

They begin by tracking down everyone associated with the lurid evening, and soon enough they’re led on a chase across the nation as murder after murder piles up.
The Travis McGee novels (this is the 4th) rarely go on sale, so if you're interested, grab it while you can.

Strangely enough, I had just referred to Proof yesterday in the non-fiction thread, because one of the Amazon US Daily Deal titles yesterday was about a non-fictional wine forger, and I mentioned Proof as my first exposure to the concept. In Vino Duplicitas had dropped to $2.99 as part of yesterday's sale, but is still at $2.99 as of this morning, at Kindle US only, not Kobo. Link if you're interested in that too: https://www.amazon.com/Vino-Duplicit...dp/B01M6WQEP9/
