I used the downgrader 2.0 from the quoted link. I've used it successfully before on a Oasis 2. I tried to downgrade from 5.16.2.1.1 to 5.13.7. The only software I installed after the JB was KUAL, renametobin, and downgrader.
I also had it registered on amazon prior to attempting the downgrade. It's an Oasis 10th generation. |

OK
That sounds weird though. I can see a few possibilities: 1) You Oasis 3 had aged and its storage died during update. 2) Kindle didn't like some file modifications 3) Update file got corrupted somehow |

With any of those possibilities, is there anything I can do? I've had it plugged into the mains since my first post and it still doesn't show fully charged when usually an Oasis would be by now. It was 50-60% when the freeze happened. A lot of suggestions I found online said to leave it charging for 24 hours and they try to force a restart again. So that's next. After that all I can think of is to let the battery discharge and then plug it in again. When I plug into a PC I get the device detected ding but a drive doesn't show up and there's nothing to eject so I can't use any of the force restart or force reset through PC options. |

Did you try the very long power button press?
I don’t remember exactly, around 40-50 seconds maybe |

Yes, I tried that several times both plugged in and not plugged in. The screen will brighten and the charging light will flash a few times and then the screen dims and light goes steady on and nothing else happens. Stays on the "will be restarted" screen.

I copied the content of languagebreak folder directly to the kindle, namely: ".active_content_sandbox documents jb jb.html patchedUks.sqsh" and I made sure to copy and replace existing files in step 15, before ejecting the kindle. then, I pushed the power button like in step 16. and some of the times , I didn't push it, but the kindle started any way.. and all the times, it didn't show the language selection screen |

My Kindle keeps struggling with the sideloading. At step 19, there are no log messages on the screen, and I can't install any .bin files (both firmware files and update_hotfix_languagebreak, as I get a message about an invalid update file.
I'm using the PW 4 with version 5.16.21. |

Any other suggestions on a kindle stuck on "Your kindle is restarting"? I've tried the long press restart, screen brightens and led flashes green a few times but nothing else happens. I've tried that while charging, while plugged into PC, while unplugged. I tried charging it from the MAINS for over 24 hours. The LED never turned green. The PC makes a sound when I plug it in but the drive doesn't pop up in This PC and it's not listed under the eject options.
I'm pretty sure it's bricked but any other suggestions would be welcome. My last chance is to drain the battery and see if that changes something. That will take a while though. |
