That's the whole point of humans sitting somewhere, isn't it?

My dog will sit between my feet on the floor when I am on the couch or cum up on the couch and most of the time lay next to me or lay on the foot rest or if my wife is home and in her chair, he'll either sit between her feet on the floor or go up on her chair and lay on on of the arms or lat on the foot rest or lay in his bed.

If he is home alone, he will usually lay on top of the back of the sofa or lay in his bed.

On Saturday one of the power outlets in my bedroom stopped working. Considering the fuse didn't switch off I expected a loose wire instead of a short; I use that socket for my hairdryer so it's gets plugged in and taken out regularly.

But to do so I had switch off power to that socket. From our electrician we got a list of what was connected to each fuse, but the fuses itself weren't numbered. It was one of those chores I kept putting off. So after numbering all the fuses and making a new, more easily understandable list.

That done I could easily find the fuse to switch off and investigate the problem. The socket looks fine with the cover off, no scorch marks. There were no loose wires and when I turned the power on there was no electricity on either of the wires. Now this socket is patched through the wall to another socket, which is working. so I'm expecting a wire on that side of the wall has come loose.

Now I don't know enough about patching through sockets to want to mess with that. Add to it it's in a tight space, behind the dryer. I called my dad (electrician) and he agrees that my diagnosis is the most logic one. But he sounded very reluctant to take a look when he's coming by on Saturday because of the tight space; he isn't the most flexible anymore.

So now I texted our electrician if he works at the moment (his wife is ill). Keeping my fingers crossed that he still works and has time soon to come take a look. I know most electrician aren't interested in such a small job.

There are bobhouses on the town landing! I thought I'd never see them again. 0° yet again this AM; every morning I think it's the last time. This winter is brutal.

Ditto my lower legs & feet… except it feels like I'm wearing shoes & socks, I have to look to see what, if anything. I'm wearing down there. Peripheral neuropathy… no identifiable cause, don't drink alcohol, don't have diabetes.

First diagnosed in 2018, but mild symptoms for a lot longer… probably since 2007 heart surgery. A couple of long spells in ICU's in 2017 & 2019 made it a lot worse. And a leg injury in 2022 that needed a couple of sessions of surgery and a skin graft under GA hasn't helped. Loss of balance is what I dislike most of all.

I second you on the lack of balance. I suffer from neuropathy in my left foot (diabetes related) that led to when I broke my ankle, my walking around for about a month not realizing it was broken. That in turn led to a sore on the ankle that wouldn't heal and a diagnosis of Charcot foot.

Since then I've either been in a custom boot from knee down, or now a custom orthotic sole in a customized New Balance shoe.
