I didn't buy the return of the villain, but otherwise good.

Next I read The Janus Stone by Elly Griffiths. The second in her Dr Ruth Galloway series.

It was a quick read and I enjoyed it, but I did feel that the number of coincidences was a little too high.

Next up: Ocean under the Ice by Robert L Forward and Martha Dodson Forward. (Wow - I bought this one back in 2008!)

I finished Orbital and Prairie Fires yesterday.

Kobo:
Laura by Vera Caspary

Laura makes for an interesting read if you've already seen the movie - a different take on Waldo Lydecker's character and motivations. If you haven't seen the movie - you're missing a masterpiece of B&W cinematography. The camera loved Gene Tierney's face.

I love B&W noir (which is a bit redundant). Waldo was quite a baddie. Thanks, I just wished the book at my library.

We'd both seen it, but we threw Laura on the projector last night for just this reason.

If you (or anyone reading this) has not seen the movie version of The King's Speech, I suggest doing so as it's an excellent movie

I saw it when it came out, years back. The book was decent, but not too much depth. It was meant to be based on Logue's diaries and papers, but I think I would have preferred the actual diaries to the somewhat simplified summary the book felt like.

That a shame that the book was too lightweight.

Currently 11% into Vincent van Gogh: A Life in Letters a curated compilation by Nienke Bakker, Hans Luijten and Leo Jansen. An interesting way to get to know more about him, in his own (mostly) translated words. I say mostly, because the compilation includes one of the six surviving letters he wrote in English.
