Thank you to the mods of this forum for saving me $190 on a new e-reader and saving the planet from more e-waste! I don't think I'll be upgrading this bad boy anytime soon as popping the back off is easy, and the SD card and battery are user-replaceable with a little know-how.

I gotta thank everyone involved here as well.
My Kobo Clara HD just came back to life, I used the same original SD card, I guess it was some corrupted file within the configs that caused the issue.

Fortunately I don't need to buy a new e-reader.

Could you send me the link for SD card image for my Kobo Aura N236. I have no idea if it’s a v1 or v2 (The kobo is locked at the restoring screen, and I don’t have access to the SN number).
May be send both and I’ll try which one is the right one

You will need to have Private Messages enabled before you can be sent the link. If you don't see that option in the "Edit Options" of the User control panel, you should post in the Requests to enable Private Messages thread to ask for PMs to be enabled.
