Weird!!! My old Windows 10 laptop will let me into this forum, but my Windows 11 will not. Both have Norton Security 360.
"Known Malicious website". Even when I click on "continue anyway", it will not let me. Any ideas? I need DNBS's bat file. Thanks. |

Wouldn't trust anything produced by a company that changes its name more frequently than Rupert Murdoch changes his spouse.

What does this have to do with "Dealing with Kindle ebooks in Calibre"?

There is no Nook for Mac anymore. And Nook for PC is no longer in the Microsoft app store. You can still obtain it, and it does still seem to be working for the moment. That said, I stopped buying books from B&N years ago when they killed their old desktop apps. My Nook is my favorite ereader though.
I occasionally still buy from Amazon since I have E-ink Kindles. They both have "download & transfer" and one is old enough to also decrypt books downloaded directly to it. I won't buy any more books if they cut those methods off. I get most of my books from Kobo. I find those books the easiest to deal with. |

No idea why your computer is overreacting to this site. Download it on the Windows 10 laptop and move it to Windows 11. Or rewrite it on the Windows 11. Or just do the thing that the bat file does yourself. Been a while since I looked at it, but iirc it's just creating a text file with no extension with the name of the folder it replaces.

Unfortunately, it appears that B&N removed the Nook for PC app in 2023, and no longer allows for new connections (even if you can find an older copy of the install program). Too bad! I was hoping for another alternative. Currently, the easiest route I've found is to buy all books through Kobo, where it's a simple import similar to the one you outline for B&N, using the OBOK import plugin. |
