Custom recipe files are deleted next time starting calibre

The custom recipes that I previously downloaded — usually using a specific url that I edit — disappear from my calibre library after I close and reopen the program. How can I keep them from being removed?

Reset the delete news older than setting at the bottom of the fetch news dialog back to 60 days. And the setting to keep at most issues in the advanced tab

Another related question:
When I use a custom recipe to retrieve multiple past issues, I can only send one issue at a time to my device. If I try to send a second one, calibre removes the first one while sending the second.

For example, on a single day I retrieve two past issues using the same custom recipe where I change the url in the recipe and download each time. Then I attach my device but can only add one of them.

I suspect it may have something to do with the dates being the same? But I'm not sure. Thanks for any guidance here.

check the filename template for sending to the device, add {id} to it.

I tried several different variations such as
{author_sort}/{title} - {authors} - {id}
but it still only allows me to upload one at a time (it removes other issues automatically).

I cannot replicate that behavior. Sending multiple issues of a periodical to my Kindle allows me to browse all of them.

Ok, thanks anyway for your help!

If anyone else happens to find a workaround please let me know. I will try sending more of them to my device tomorrow and report back whether I can send all of them, or one more, or whether the same barrier exists even if I upload on separate days.

Sorry that this thread became more involved on a problem that was tangential to the original question.
