By the way I've heard the developer of Calibre pronounces it as "caliber" as he is from India which used to be a british colony therefore the English over there is more traditional compared to US English. But I would say the pronouncing should be the same as like "theatre" vs "theater". So Caliber it is... ;p

Also please note that calibre does not have a capital C at the start of it. |

I often use capital C for calibre, although I know it's supposed to to be small. So that other people, who may not know this, would understand I mean the computer program calibre and not something else.

I am not sure if I have to install KoboPatch for my KLC2
I have a Kobo Libra Color 2 device. I am not programmer nor I know or understand coding at advanced level.
I have the following mods installed on my KLC2 device: NickelClock NickelDBus NickelMenu KFmon KOReader I read about the KoboPatch and I decided to install this. Upon after referring to the following URLs: https://github.com/pgaskin/kobopatch-patches https://github.com/folkemat/KoboPatchFan https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=356106 I proceeded to download and install the KoboPatchFan desktop application on my windows desktop. After running the application, the application generated this message: Found no patch for firmware 4.39.23027 After checking the current firmware/software version installed on my KLC2 device, i found that it has the following version installed: 4.40.23081 (8cd8ab046d, 8/19/24) So the latest available patch from pgaskin's Github (https://github.com/pgaskin/kobopatch...leases/tag/v84) is 4.38.21908 Does that mean I cannot install this current latest patch for 4.38.21908 for my KLC2 at the moment ?? Please can someone help to clarify and guide me on exactly what to do to install KoboPatch to my KLC2 device |

You can use the same step for KLC with firmware 4.40.23081 1. Download kobopatch_4.38.21908.zip from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=356106, put it in kobopatchfanapp folder on my Document, replace the name of the zip file to kobopatch_4.40.23081.zip and extract it (image 01). The red boxes are the extracted folder and files from kobopatch_4.40.23081.zip 2. Download the latest kobo firmware (4.40.23081) for KLC from https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html and put kobo-update-4.40.23081.zip on src folder in kobopatchfanapp folder on my document (image 02) 3. Open kobopatch.yaml and replace the following text as displayed in image 03. Reccomendation to use notepad++ to open yaml file. 4. There are changes of offset to several patches at kobopatch 4.40.23081. You can see the change in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=188. You may need to replace the offset per patch accordingly. Some patches are written in libnickel.so.1.0.0.yaml and nickel.yaml in the src folder. 5. Change the offset of "allow info panel on random screensaver". Open Kobopatchfanapp, go to section (2), click/select libnickel, find patch allow info panel on random screensaver, and click edit. Change the offset and save it. (image 04) 6. Continue to change the offset for other patches. 7. When you finish change the offset for all the patches. You can start doing the patch in Section (2) and Generate the patch in Section (3). Just follow the instructions from the kobopatchfanapp. (image 05) Last edited by hatuluang; 11-03-2024 at 05:27 PM. |
