My A6X2 is reporting its vendor ID as 18D1 which is the one from google if I am not mistaken.

The device id changes depending on the mode I have it:
If I have it in enable sideloading it reports 0017 in file transfer mode and 0018 in ptp mode.
If I put it in normal mode it reports 0007 in file transfer mode and 0008 in ptp mode.

But never reports the correct vendor id so the vendor detection checks in Calibre are bypassed, is this a new thing or is there a setting I am missing ?

For reference: FW 3.17.29

I decided to use the old thread to keep the information all together please correct me if I should have opened a new one anyway.

That's weird. Maybe contact th device vendor and ask them to fix it. I dont think I want to add defaults for a generic google vendor id as that might break other devices.

Fully understand, was asking as it may have been a known issue, I think I will have to setup a dev environment and make a batch for me in the mean time. Thanks a lot for your work, I just noticed I have been registered here for 12 years and this is just my third post hehehe

Was out so forgot to give feedback, followed the guide on how to put caliber in "development mode" added the ids to the code you linked previously and was able to import the books just hours before my travel

. just wanted to leave the feedback if anyone else has the same problem as I did.
