Waiting to get tickets to the 2025 Ghost world tour, in an hour the pre-sale will start. I might even splurge for a VIP ticket.

It's been years since I've been to a concert. Which was Meat Loaf in Amsterdam in 2003. I did buy those tickets online back then. But I can remember a time when concert tickets had to be bought at the post office. They always went on sale on Fridays and there was always a line waiting. Of course, if it was a popular show there was a chance the tickets were sold out before you could get one. A couple of times my parents gave permission to play hooky from school in order to get tickets.

Buying online from the comfort of your home is nice, but those Friday mornings were fun, too.

It reminds me of Black Friday, back in the day. When part of the ritual on Thanksgiving was sitting with all the paper ads and plotting your strategy. When 5 AM was early enough to get to a store that opened at 6 AM, so you'd hang out for an hour with a cup of coffee and chat with the other liners-uppers. Get in the store, grab the precious or two or three, check out before the lines got long and go home and have pie for breakfast. It was fun!

Circuit City used to have great BF deals - I remember waiting in long pre-dawn lines then going for breakfast with friends we ran into there...
