I set the linux box to 175% to test (I can't live with that) but that didn't prevent the loss of the menubar when I switched back to the windows box. But it does need more than around 5 minutes for the menubar to go. My Linux box does not use a single top menu bar like macOS. I normally use Sigil maximised, but to test your first point about the scaling of the Sigil window, I opened Sigil at a reduced size and waited. The screenshot attached shows that there is a small scaling difference when the menubar disappears. The blue around the edges is my screen 'wallpaper'. You'll notice a slight clipping at the left edge (see Book Browser, etc.) and a vacant strip at the right edge. There is also a blank strip at the bottom, below the status bar and its height more or less corresponds to the size of the missing menubar. The width of the title bar does not appear to be reduced. To restore the menubar, I clicked in the titlebar and gave it the merest nudge, and the Sigil window was redrawn correctly. |

Interesting, so by just waiting long enough you can see the window size shrinking and moving slightly. As if someone changed the 0,0 corner.
I will search Qt bug reports to see if there are any window specific bugs that might cause positioning shifts or shrinkage. |

It seems to take at least 5 minutes. It didn't actually shrink in front of my eyes. I put my Linux scaling back to a more comfortable 125% and that didn't make any difference to the scaling of Sigil's window when the menubar went away. It was exactly as ijn the screenshot I added to my previous post. Last edited by philja; 09-04-2024 at 01:35 PM. |

Understood. I searched for all types of "shrinking, shifting, and menubar issues" and even looked at "kvm" issues but none of the Qt issues the search brought up appeared to apply.
Not sure how else to help. This could easily be a kvm switch issue with emulating that a monitor still exists, a unreported Qt6 issue on Windows or almost anything. As I have no kvm switch nor can recreate this on Linux or macOS, I have nothing left but pure guesswork. |

I would think that Windows still thinks the monitor is connected when I'm switched over to the Linux box because when I switch back, I find that the Windows screensaver has kicked in and that's set to happen after 10 minutes without activity. Maybe more light will be shed on this issue at a later date. Last edited by philja; 09-04-2024 at 04:35 PM. Reason: to add info on screensaver. |

The malformed epub warning plays twice for me when opening a book, any way to fix or just disable this notification?
