In that case, more countries drive on the right. So we'll get rid of driving on the left for the same reason. |

The right vs left is a bogus argument. The point isn't that everyone in USA should use the Western Europe format (some countries don't even use the Gregorian system), but that people from the less than 5% world population USA shouldn't insist their way is correct. It's an alternate way, that works locally. Internationally (a global audience) the ISO format is best, if using a Gregorian date at all. Perhaps 10,000 should be added (approx first villages or towns rather than the wrong birth date of a famous Jewish guy), so today is 12024-08-02. There are maybe 7 or 8 calendar systems apart from the many ways of writing Gregorian dates, and a three letter month abbreviation isn't universal, nor even the name of the month. In Ireland the modern months are: Eanáir – January Feabhra – February (Old Irish Fisabh) Márta – March (Old Irish Mághta) Aibreáin – April Bealtaine – May Meitheamh – June Iúil – July Lúnasa – August (Old Irish Lughnasadh) Meán Fómhair – September (=middle of harvest) Deireadh Fómhair – October (=end of harvest) Samhain – November Nollaig – December (=Christmas, I forget the old Irish) The Irish ones are still in everyday use, even officially. Days of week (English is from Norse and Roman) and month names even in Gregorian using countries do vary. Local or national things are fine, but you can't insist they are "correct" in a Global or International sense. |

Yep, I am looking at a calendar and I don't see that. I see the day before the month.
Why are you insisting that your way is the correct way? |

I don't know what type of calendar you are looking at, but none of the calendars show that. It is just a header with month and year, then boxes for days.
I suppose I am only allowed to look at American calendars as anything else would be the "wrong type of calendar"? |

No, now you are just picking and choosing to fit your point.
The calendar will show Month AND Year then under that is days. So it would actually be August 2024 1 |

And you will never be convincing that the US format is better than the format used by the rest of the world.
I'll leave it at that, and look for something more productive for my morning |

I have something for you to do. Petition for ISO date format to be used world wide.
