If the OP uses the --with-library option in the calibre command as I suggested there's no need to remember to do anything before exiting calibre… it also overcomes the consequences of calibre terminating abnormally.

I suspect anything related to command line options is Chinese to most folks. They wouldn't know how to even start.

No need to use command line, just edit the shortcut via the Windows File Manager Properties dialogue, or via this utility ==>> Release 1.6.1 · ElektroStudios/Easy-Link-File-Viewer · GitHub
