Read a bunch o books.
I've been reading Charles Stross Laundry Files:
"The Atrocity Archive"
"The Jennifer Morgue"
and am a few pages into "The Fuller Memorandum". I am also reading a Dean Koontz Odd Thomas book. It's a quick read , "Odd Hours".
