Goal Change Log:
Spoiler:
1/16/15: I decided to change my sub-goals to book-based goals rather than page-based. My reasoning is that I read books, not individual pages, and this will allow me to choose whatever book I want regardless of page length since the page count won't affect my goals. This is the same reason that my main goal is a page-based goal - it allows me to read whatever I want without considering how long the book is. Page based sub-goals were forcing me to choose some genres that typically have shorter page counts than others in order to meet the goals. As part of this, I have adjusted the goals to be more in-line with what I have actually been doing and want to move forward with.
In practice this will mean that ~60% of the books I read will be Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Thrillers, the remaining 40% will be other genres (or specific sub-genres of the above that I track separate.) I can live with that.
Old multi-year Ongoing Goals:
2) Diversity: No more than 1/3 of pages read will be in a single genre.
3) Re-Read: No more than 1/4 of pages read will be re-reads.
4) Indies: At least 1/5 of pages read will be independently published.
