Yeah, I’m also on a Mac. There’s a setting which prevents Safari from opening files after download.

How do I better use the reboot function? I used ower:reboot, and it does what it says, but can I do something like a clear screen or similar at the same time? Because right now the device just kind of freezes until I see the boot screen.

That is what you would expect from an eInk device. Until the screen is written to, the contents won't change. You could try a toast with rebooting but not sure how well that would work.-

You can use a script to display a message but the way I do it you need to install NickelDBus. The screen still freezes but it freeezes with the message so you know it has actually started the reboot.

NickelMenu config file;
Quote:
menu_item :main :Reboot :cmd_spawn :quiet :/mnt/onboard/.adds/ndbus/NDBus_Reboot.sh
NickelDBus script;
Quote:
#!/bin/sh

ndb_reboot()
{
qndb -m pwrReboot
return
}

qndb -m mwcToast 2500 "Your eReader is rebooting" "Please wait..."
ndb_reboot

You can do a toast with a chained NM command too.

Yeah I tried that in NickelMenu but I could not get it work.

I believe NickelMenu works how it should as a menu selection option?

Hi, sorry if this question has already been asked. I went back awhile in this thread and didn't see anyone posting about this. Has anyone tried installing Koreader on the new Clara B&W, and did it work? Thanks.

The current release does not work but there is a test build which might work. OTOH, you may want to wait a while for an official release with support for the Libra Colour/Clara Colour/Clara BW.

You may want to check the One-Click Install Packages for KOReader & Plato thread from page 69 onwards.

Now to be fair, I also had problems before I installed Nickelmenu in that my LC wouldn’t see 5GHz networks, so maybe my unit is defective, but once I removed Nickelmenu, the WiFi instability went away and passwords were retained. (I still can’t see any 5GHz networks, tho)

It's not an issue with the LC. The L2 calso annot connect with 5GHZ networks as well. I have no idea why. That's rather backwards (IMHO).

The page linked below has a post from ptrm with a "device.lua" file that I copied to the appropriate Koreader folder of my BW. Koreader is working fine now on my Clara BW. I do have the latest Koreader and KFMon programs installed as well.

That is almost certainly a coincidence... Nothing NM hooks has anything to do with WiFi.

I reported it just in case it was an issue, but I also posted a caveat because it could have been unrelated to NM.

I was also having issues with connecting to 5GHz networks over WiFi which suddenly became fixed an hour or so ago (knock on wood). It's possible this issue has been fixed due to all the reboots I've done. I really can't say.

I do have a Nickelmenu question, however. Now that I've reinstalled it, and things seem to be working fine on my Kobo Libra Colour, I've noticed that I can't get telnet or ftp access because a password has been set. Does anybody know the new password for root? I've also heard that "admin" is also a user now. And where do I find that information? Thanks.
