ebook-viewer Windows Tablet
I am using Calibre's E-book viewer (ebook-viewer.exe) to read ebook (epub) on Windows Tablet.
I am missing some features (compared to favorite Android ebook readers): 1. line scrolling. Very handy, like in all other apps: swipe finger up - text goes down line by line, swipe finger down - text goes up line by line. Now swiping goes to next/prev chapter. There should be ability to customize this and add line scrolling. 2. customising tap regions. Like tap buttom-right - page down, tap up-right - page up, tap buttom-left - page down, tap center - show menu, tap left - do this or that... |

If you want to scroll by lines, switch to flow mode (click the yellow scroll icon in the top right corner).

If I leave "Switch to flow mode" turned on, and tap for page change (tapping is most handy thing), some bottom lines of text become cut in half (for obvious reason) and this makes reading experience bad. As I use tablet, i use full screen mode and hidden controls (no buttons), so "Switch to flow mode" is not easy accessible. |

Well, you said before you want to swipe, now you want to tap?
It would definitely be nice if lines weren't being cut, but IIRC there were difficulties with that. |

To be more clear for you: tapping is used to change page when it is finished; swiping is used to mark exact place (swiping line to the top) where reading is finished this time to start from the top next time. And you have to agree, this reader is not optimized for tablets like Android readers are. But it is still the best in my experience for Windows tablet, with some options enabled like "start in full screen", tapping and some others. |

If you want to swipe to turn pages, you swipe horizontally, not vertically. And swiping up/down to move between chapters is not confusing, it is pretty standard, for instance, all Kindles use it.

And yet not confusing compared to all paper books in existence where horizontal motions turn pages. If you are seriously claiming that it is more intuitive to swipe vertically to turn pages -- perhaps you are a time traveller from the age of papyrus scrolls?

And you were told ten posts back that you can use vertical wipe to scroll line by line in flow mode. Since paged mode has no concept of line by line scrolling, I really dont understand what you are complaining about.

This is what an Egyptian scroll looks like: It's written in columns from top to bottom, with the columns themselves being read from right to left (just like modern Japanese). So when you're reading it, you unroll the scroll in your left hand, and roll it up in your right hand. No vertical scrolling . Last edited by HarryT; 02-08-2016 at 10:15 AM. |

Complaining? Wash your head.
I am suggesting. Suggesting the reader to be more handy for win tablet (myself being advanced android ebook reader user). But whatever. You know better. |
