I don't normally post streaming audiobooks, but this one might interest a few of you with the Super Bowl coming up. If you like to listen to "The Disappearing Quarterback" by Mike Boryla you can stream it here from now through the SuperBowl, thanks to the publisher (Brook Forest Voices).

"He had everything he wanted, but didn't want what he had!" "He" is Mike Boryla, the author and subject of The Disappearing Quarterback who was a former NFL Quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition, he was the Denver Post 1968 Gold Helmet Award winner.

Boryla relates in a humorous, yet heart wrenching way, his days as a football player on the field of Regis High School in Denver, Colorado, Stanford University and finally the Philadelphia Eagles (1974-76), throwing two touchdown passes for the NFC in the January 1977 Pro Bowl.

Boryla also discusses some of the current hot-button NFL issues, including concussions (he suffered one at Regis and two with the Eagles) and brain injuries which preceded his exit from professional football.

I don't know why you don't normally post streaming audiobooks (too much on your plate already, think people wouldn't be interested, etc.), but I for one would be interested in seeing what you find. I'm sure that I would be interested in some of them, depending upon the subject. I hope that you'll think about posting more of them.

I just bought this in the USA and I think there is a special going on. The Kindle book was $0.99 and there was a place to click if I wanted the Audible for $1.99. I didn't know they gave the Audible price - or just hadn't noticed it before!

Well, this is a week of first for me. First, a free audiobook stream. Now it's a free audiobook rental. Downpour's rental of the week this week is "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson, and it's free. You can have it for a 30-day rental by going here.

The basis for the film starring Academy Award nominee Will Smith, I Am Legend is a classic of horror and suspense.

The Whispersync free title of the month has been updated. If you're interested in "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett you can get it by first purchasing the Kindle edition (here), then getting the Audible version (here). It should be available for the rest of the month, but who knows what Amazon's calendar shows? If you're interested don't delay.

This used to be my favorite sale of the year; but now that I can get so many of the titles with WS, that it takes away some of the excitement.

Audible can be so annoying sometimes. I was surprised to see I had used so many credits already, so I started paging through my transaction details. Lo and behold, I had been charged two credits for my purchase during the 2-for-1 Brandon Sanderson sale. They happily credited my account, but if I hadn't spotted it, I would be out a credit. It boggles my mind how a company this big can have such fundamental problems with core processes like billing customers the right amount.
