Boox Page allow for wallpaper?

I'm using the Nova Launcher on my Boox Page and want something other than pure white background (almost all my apps fit in the dock.) When using anything to change the wallpaper, it says "The admin has locked wallpaper" etc, I'm guessing this is some Android setting somewhere. How can you adjust this?

Hmm, you may be right.
Personally, I would never want anything other than white.

I don't use a launcher that shows wallpaper, but I do have a wallpaper app.
I can change the (solid color) wallpaper but the change is not visible.
Must be something in framework-res.apk

Thanks for the reply. is this something I can adjust willingly? or will I need to root? im a bit new to owning such devices.

The brute force way is to edit framework-res.apk
But that requires resigning your whole system.
You should be able to load a theme, but I've never done that.
Probably the easiest would be to mod your launcher to use a background.
You don't want your wallpaper to pan, do you?

I tried fine-tuning my Wallpaper.apk. It works fine on my phone, but not on my Poke3.

I just checked /data/system/users/0/wallpaper after I changed it to black.
It's a nice 1448 x 1448 PNG file of black.
So the problem is that the SystemUI never tries to draw it.

This is an 'issue' with the device OS itself.
Since you're using Nova Launcher, you can use a picture widget and make it full screen. Do make sure that you set the 'Widget overlap' and move this widget to the back, so you still can use icons and other widgets on top.
