This month's free ebook is "For the Love of it: Amateuring and Its Rivals" by amateur cellist, Wayne C. Booth - http://press.uchicago.edu/books/freeEbook.html According to the description, "... It is a story not only of one intimate struggle between a man and his cello, but also of the larger struggle between a society obsessed with success and individuals who choose challenging hobbies that yield no payoff except the love of it". The ebook is in pdf format.

And it's a big file in PDF too. A bit over 12 MB. I don't know if that's too big for reading on an ereader or not but it is bigger than most of the files I have on mine.

The download page warns: "Please note: Most Kindle devices will NOT be able to open this book."

It doesn't help to convert to epub either as it grows to 22 MB. Ah well, maybe it can be saved as text and run through sigil.

With help from these forums, I used Calibre and K2pdfopt to convert the pdf to a form I can enjoy reading on my cheap Chinese ereader. The only problem is that the I have to remember the page no. each time I turn off the reader - it doesn't go straight to where I left off, as it does with epubs.
