Georgette Heyer's Classic Heroines is an omnibus containing Cotillion, Faro's Daughter, and Friday's Child. Not quite sure what makes these three "classic". I actually think most of Heyer's books are classic, but probably wouldn't pick these three for the designation specifically.

But in any case, the omnibus is on sale right now for $3.99 in the US and it's discountable at Kobo US. So if you need/want all three, this isn't a bad price for the lot, especially at Kobo!

Joffe has a free romance this weekend as part of their Free Friday program, and it's still free as of right now, Sunday morning, in California. (But I wouldn't wait if you want it...)

The Purrfect Pet Sitter is the first in the short two-book (as least so far) Lisa Blake series by Carol Thomas.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9DRYJZH
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C9DRYJZH

Spoiler:
Quote:
How long can an old flame burn?

Lisa Blake was living her best life. She left her friends behind to travel the world with her gorgeous new beau.

But it didn’t last . . .

Now she’s single, alone and living in her parents’ spare room. And working as a pet sitter.

She has a lot of bridges to rebuild. At least she’s made up with old best friend Flick. But there are a few people she’s rather not see again.

And number one on that list is her high school sweetheart Nathan . . . Who she drunkenly adds on Facebook one night.

Reuniting with Nathan opens up a whole new can of worms. And it turns out her old flame is now a hunky fireman.

But is it too late for a second chance with the one who got away?

More Adventure than Romance.
"My Brother Michael" by Mary Stewart
Reduced to 99p on Amazon UK Marketplace. We have on paper, but at that price worth duplicating as ebook.

I enjoyed most of Mary Stewart’s Romance/Adventure stories though didn’t enjoy Rose Cottage so much. But they’re all worth a read IMO.

Yep. I've picked up the ones I've liked best when they've hit 99¢ in the US, even though I'll probably never reread them. The Gabriel Hounds is the last one I want; there was a blink-and-you've-missed-it price drop over a year ago and I did. I assume it will recur eventually and if not, as I said, probably will never reread anyway.

Gabriel Hounds has almost Gothic style of tension. A classic.

But for me, having the entire library on a portable ereader is much better than paper. Even finding the Mary Stewart when you have about 3000 books on shelves only ever partially sorted and never catalogued is an issue. Madness when I actually have had a Wireless barcode terminal for nearly 25 years and wrote sold custom barcode database systems 25 years ago!

Heh. Reminds me of my Angela Thirkell novels, all of which I own in hard copies. I do pick up the ebooks from time to time and have even starting rereading them at widely spaced intervals. Much easier as ebooks!
