Which isn't a bad price, but then I paid £1.25 for the 1978 edition paperback. (At a guess, it was purchased new in the early '80s when I lived in London.)

I was curious about this, too. Then I noticed on Amazon that it's available on Kindle Unlimited. I'm willing to bet that's our problem right there.

I thought so too. But Moorcock is a big enough author I wouldn't think he would be locked in to exclusivity. And Saga Press is an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

I don't know how much Gloriana is selling these days, given that it was published in '78. Maybe someone presented him the estimate of getting so much $$$ a month based on number of people likely to read it in KU, and he decided that sounded better than the amount it was currently generating via standalone sales.

It's not KU on UK Marketplace, and there it's a higher price than Kobo.

Using Kobo airlines I was able to travel to India to buy an eBook on April 3, 2024. NO problem buying the eBook.

I've noticed I very rarely use the Kobo travel agency, even for a really good deal. The only books I tend to travel for are those that are completely unavailable here in 'Murica.

The better half read this as a library book a few months ago and loved it. Enough that when I mentioned it is on sale, I was told to buy it.

The impressive part of the story is that they never met a penny they couldn't pinch. So when I am told to lay out funds on a book that has already been read for free, well brother, that says something for that book*

Apparently it leans to the literary and is not an easy read. But is worth the time.

*Whereas with me, if a synopsis sounds half way interesting and it's three bucks, hey, I'll take it!
