New firmware (1.3 20100419)
You can download it here: http://freakshare.net/files/jlf9kw2w/1.3-419.rar.html
Disclaimer: I don't think this upgrade is official yet, so upgrade at your own risk. Anyways, I've updated mine and my favourite new option is the line space adjustment. I've always thought that the default line spacings were too wide, but now I can reduce it and get even more words per page. I've tried TTS for a little bit, and it is a little weird for english books IMO. The pronunciation is for asian language, most notable is the way it reads "i". The new screensavers are nicer too. Handwriting recognition is designed for chinese characters I think. You write a word and you have options to pick the best results. So its rather slow to type on. I kinda wish the "write" function, can be more fluid as it was on my old Sony Clie. Not a very big problem for me though, I rarely type anything on my boox ^^; That's all for first impressions after playing with it for 30 minutes |
