I wish they'd stop with these limited choice sales they never choose books I want I generally read mystery/thrillers so that knocks the 200 down to about 44. It feels like they have killed the spend 4 credits get $10 promo that they used to run which is a great pity it was my favourite sale.
I think this sale has one of the best selections I've yet seen from Audible--I'm also a mystery/thriller fan. I'm considering the Rhys Bowen books (the first three of the Molly Murphy series) as well as Thornwood House and Still Missing.

Ones I've already listened to in this category are Those Girls, Tell No Lies, Keep Your Friends Close, and The Stranger. Those Girls had too much gruesome violence for me, and I wouldn't recommend it, but the others were all OK.

The thing that makes me happy is that this is the 2nd "credit" sale I have qualified for lately, and I am a Listener Light.

If they haven't permanently changed the rules to include us, then they are cruel for getting our hopes up. I never thought that excluding us made sense from a business point of view anyway. They should be encouraging me to spend my credits, so I will buy more.

I'm pretty new to audiobooks so this selection was fine for me - I didn't already have a bunch. I had four credits, and used them on the first three Bowen/Molly Murphy books (thanks Catlady) and the first three Camilla Läckberg/Patrik Hedström books. After that, I should know if I like audiobooks enough to get more into it.

I am a ListenerLighter, too. I haven't looked over this current sale yet. ListenerLighters get no credits as a part of their plans. So, how have you been able to take advantage of the "credits" sales? I'm mystified.

When I cancelled my monthly plan, I went to the Listener Light plan because I had six credits that I didn't want to lose. I'm now down to four...which I'm squandering for future releases.

Gotcha. Didn't think about that possibility.

Found two that I really want on the sale page, The Two Towers and Return of the King, to complete my Hobbit/LOTR set; but can't find a third I'm interested in.

If you don't intend to listen to them soon, add them to the cart and they'll still be in the special drawer the next time there's a 3-for-2 sale.

As usual, there's nothing for me this sale; I think I've only bought once at a 2-for-1. I'm sitting on several credits in the very faint hope there will be a buy 4, get $10 promotion in April.

This is directed at anyone, not just copyrite . . . .

I'm wondering, then, if it would make sense to get a credit membership, not spend the credits, and then cancel it and convert it to LL after a while. Then, you'd have all of those credits and be able to spend them, as an LL, on the for-credits sales.

In the past, I always purchased a Platinum Annual Membership (24 credits for less than $10 each) and then just did Listener Light until I finally ran out of credits and would start over. I usually did 1-2 years of LL before upgrading again.

Then they quit letting LL membership have access to the credit sales, so I started mostly purchasing WS titles. I haven't used a credit since the last Buy 4 in April.

If they really are giving us access again, then I will go to the original plan and get Platinum again when I run out.

You may have hit upon why LL members have been excluded from so many "sales events." Buy 6 credits, spend $10, use them only when you can get 2-1, 3-2, or B4G$10. Heck, a scheme like that pays for itself. It's a min-max scheme, but Audible should reward members' loyalty for staying a member.

Me, I was fortunate enough that they are rewarding my disloyalty. I had a cheapo 3-month membership. When I went to cancel it they threw $20 at me to not go (yet). I'll probably still go, just after I spend the $20.

Us disloyalers get rewarded more than the loyalers do

I have quite a few Audible books and have never spent more than $3 per credit/book. As soon as I get my third credit from the 3 month $0.99/credit promo I'm on, I'm cancelling my membership for the umpteenth time. I'm so used to paying $1~$3/book, that I won't ever more than that.

Freebie for all you geeks out there! Audible has "Death's Heretic" by James L. Sutter available for free. It's labeled (on the cover) as a part of a new "Pathfinder Tales" series. Judging by the logo, it looks to tie in with the Pathfinder RPG from Paizo (which, at one time, used the Dungeons & Dragons core rules).

Quote:
Nobody cheats death. A warrior haunted by his past, Salim Ghadafar serves as a problem-solver for a church he hates, bound by the goddess of death to hunt down those who would rob her of her due. Such is the case in the desert nation of Thuvia, where a powerful merchant on the verge of achieving eternal youth via a magical elixir is mysteriously murdered, his soul kidnapped somewhere along its path to the afterlife. Death's Heretic is FREE until February 16, 2016.
Enjoy!
