Perhaps we could blame the owners of Tolino?

How can you say that when I just provided a link that describes which companies and private persons own shares of Tolino? Rakuten does not have any shares of Tolino.

I'd rather charge it every day, but no way do I want a heavier device.

Amazon made their cover correctly, it worked as it should. Kobo power cover was an absolute mess.

The idea of such a cover is a disaster. The Reader needs a proper battery so such a cover is never needed.

My old Aura HD was/is amazing. I actually never "charged" it, as it "now it's time to charge it, and started to charge it". It only got what it got when I connected it for Calibre usage (which to be fair was fairly often).

It's still, after all these years of heavy use, much better than my Forma ever was.

Kobo, if you are reading this; Please give us an ereader with a good battery life again!

Your efforts to get the thread back on topic have been noted and applauded. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Too bad it didn't work. 😅

To answer your earlier question, when the Clara 2E was announced on Sep 1, 2022, people already knew about it at least a month before. In May of that year, Nate of the ereader Blog was wondering aloud if Kobo would even release something that year. So from July or so when the first hints arrived (that's a guesstimate on my part. I couldn't find the thread), to wild speculation like in this thread to "Hey, there's a case for something called the Kobo Clara 2E on Rakuten's site" in August, to an official announcement in September, the whole process only took 2-3 months, closer to two. The Elipsa had a small window from FCC discovery to official announcement as well. Maybe we'll hear something this month?
