3 stories by Paolo Bacigalupi
There's a new short story anthology by Paolo Bacigalupi available on Baen (Pump Six and Other Stories). Baen has the laudable habit of putting some sample chapters online and this leads to three short stories being online for free.

They are:

A Handful of Dharma
The Fluted Girl
The People of Sand and Slag

Well, it isn't that I don't appreciate Bacigalupi's ability, but "The Fluted Girl" is not for the squeamish. That one squicked me out. It's very well written (which might be a disadvantage, considering), but the subject is disturbing.

All except 3 of the stories in that collection are available on-line for free (legally) but I bought the collection anyway. His writing is good enough for 2 bucks a pop (despite the plot holes in his Yellow Card/Calorie/Windup universe.)
