BTW, for clarity. The book is properly titled "The Honey Bus". (Note the space.)

Great, thanks. In that case, I’ll second Welcome to the Monkey House.

I nominate The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu. 2016 464pp.
Amazon Review: “Ken Liu is one of the most original, thought-provoking and award-winning short-story writers of his generation. This is the first collection of his work – sixteen stories that invoke the magical within the mundane, by turns profound, beguiling and heartbreaking. Included here are: The Man Who Ended History: A Documentary (Finalist for Hugo, Nebula, and Sturgeon Awards), Mono No Aware (Hugo Award winner), The Waves (Nebula Award finalist), The Bookmaking Habits of Select Species (Nebula and Sturgeon award finalists), All the Flavors (Nebula Award finalist), The Litigation Master and the Monkey King (Nebula Award finalist) ,and the most awarded story in the genre's history, The Paper Menagerie (the only story ever to win the Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy awards).“ Amazon UK £4.25; Ebooks.com $9.99. We are only considering the Sunshine Sketches, not any compilation it might appear in. I got the 89 pp. from FadedPage, and I will take that as definitive for this Canadian author.

For my other ticket I’ll nominate Made Things by Adrian Tchaikovsky 2019 142 pp.
Amazon review: “Welcome to Fountains Parish--a cesspit of trade and crime, where ambition curls up to die and desperation grows on its cobbled streets like mold on week-old bread. Coppelia is a street thief, a trickster, a low-level con artist. But she has something other thieves don't... tiny puppet-like companions: some made of wood, some of metal. They don't entirely trust her, and she doesn't entirely understand them, but their partnership mostly works. After a surprising discovery shakes their world to the core, Coppelia and her friends must re-examine everything they thought they knew about their world, while attempting to save their city from a seemingly impossible new threat. At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.“ Amazon UK £2.03; Amazon.com $3.99 Last edited by fantasyfan; 07-06-2020 at 11:31 AM. |

Anyway, do we have a better description of this? I still have one nod left and I'll use it to second something. But I have no idea about this book or the author. Last edited by JSWolf; 07-05-2020 at 11:15 AM. |

No offense to you or GrannyGrump, Jon, but it really doesn't matter which page count we use. Both are short, and no one is going to change their mind based on the difference of 35 pages. The description is as posted by the nominator, and it is already fully nominated and seconded. Do as you wish with your third ticket.

FYI to those making nominations. If you include a link, I will use it (though I reserve the right to clean the link up a bit.) If you don't include a link, I might add ones for the Amazon accounts I have access to. No guarantees -- sometimes I get slammed and simply don't have time or inclination. However, be advised that I can't do EU links (no account) and won't do iBooks links if they aren't already there.

I'll second The Paper Menagerie, and then we're only looking for one more second to get fantasyfan's last nomination of Made Things across the post, but I have no tickets left.

Hi - I think I’ve still got another ticket? If do, I’m happy to second Made Things; it sounds quite interesting.
