It's your opinion that Kobo readers are not premium. It's not a fact. Also it's not a fact that Boox readers are "the best". Again, it's your opinion.

And "premium" certainly doesn't mean something is usable for you |

That's beside the point. Your claim that Kobos are not premium ereaders is just your subjective opinion, no matter how many dictionary links you post here.

After that, I think it would come down to things like storage space, speed, screen size, etc., and a lot of that is very subjective. For example, if you don't read comic books, then 32GB is an insane amount of storage. If you want portable, you probably don't want a 10" screen. It's far different from 10 years ago when you had to search hard for a reading device that could support more than basic CSS, or handle a wide variety of file formats. And, software like Calibre makes moving books from one ecosystem to another (e.g., Amazon to Kobo) fairly easy. So, I'd think that a more "premium" device today would be one that is built better, so that it can last longer and overall cost less to own. Last edited by nabsltd; 07-06-2023 at 12:16 PM. |

Considering that the OP defined "premium" in this way, I'd say the Kobos are out:
Quote:
It doesn't feel "expensive" to me at all. That, however, is something I like, as I don't have to be too careful with it. That said I like it and use it a lot for reading. And to be fair, no e-reader that I've come across has felt "premium". They all are full of trade offs. The OP has decided to buy the Onyx Boox Page. I hope it's good. An interesting thing about it is the decision to use micro etched glass. Like the Kindle Voyage also did. One can only hope that the result is anywhere near that of the Voyage. Source: https://onyxboox.com/boox_page (Under the section "What ONYX Glass ...") So do tell us about the premiumness and the screen when you get it! |
