Completely separate from the Kindle Deal of the Day, Amazon has also added a Kindle eBooks Student Deal of the Day. The page not only shows you the current book, but the upcoming books (so you don't go buying a pricey textbook when you could have waited a few days for a better deal). Today's book is from Thomas Nelson:

Your Road Map For Success: You Can Get There from Here, by John C. Maxwell ($2.99)

Book Description
Defining success is a difficult task. Most people equate it with wealth, power, and happiness. However, true success is not a thing you acquire or achieve. Rather, it is a journey you take your whole life long.

In a refreshingly straightforward style, John Maxwell shares unique insights into what it means to be successful. And he reveals a definition that puts genuine success within your reach yet motivates you to keep striving for your dreams.

I want to help you discover your personal road map for success, teach you what it means to be on the success journey, answer many of your questions, and equip you with what you'll need to change yourself and keep growing. - John C. Maxwell

Happily Ever After by Susan May Warren, is a contemporary romance, free courtesy of Christian publisher Tyndale House.

Book Description

When she hires a mysterious drifter as handyman, she finds that it isn't only fairy tales that end with "happily ever after."

The Justice Game, by Randy Singer

Book Description
After the target of an investigative report storms a Virginia Beach news studio, he executes one of the anchors on live television before the SWAT team is able to take him down. Following the victim’s funeral, her family files a lawsuit against the gun company who manufactured the killer’s weapon of choice.

The lawyers for the plaintiff and defendant—Kelly Starling and Jason Noble—are young, charismatic, and highly successful. They’re also easy blackmail targets, each harboring a personal secret so devastating it could destroy their careers.

Millions of dollars—and more than a few lives—are at stake. But as Kelly and Jason battle each other, they discover that the real fight is with unseen forces intent on controlling them both.

Nope. I downloaded that one a few days ago and all is well. Maybe try again? It's a very cute, light read so far.

For those who were waiting for Amazon to price match Sony's $19.80 for The Collected Novels of José Saramago, the Kindle edition is now also priced at $19.80 (for a 12 novel collection).

Quote:
Product Description

This collection, available exclusively in e-book form, brings together the twelve novels (and one novella) of the great Portuguese writer José Saramago, with an introductory essay by Ursula Le Guin. From Saramago's early work, like the enchanting Baltasar & Blimunda and the controversial Gospel According to Jesus Christ, through his masterpiece Blindness and its sequel Seeing, to his later fables of politics, chance, history, and love, like All the Names and Death with Interruptions, this volume showcases the range and depth of Saramago’s career, his inimitable narrative voice, and his vast reserves of invention, humor, and understanding.

The previous version had a large duplicated block of text. Get the new one. It's a pretty good story.

This is a great buy folks. I love his work and am thrilled to have all of his novels for this price. It works out to $1.65 for each book.

Unfortunately it appears to be unavailable. The link goes to a "No such item" page and a search by title only returns the paperback version.

This is really weird. I just downloaded this free a few days ago. I still have it, both in my archive and on my kindle, but it no longer comes up in a search.

Free for UK Kindle readers:

The First Completely Electronic Robot and Science Fiction Limerick Book by Peter Salisbury (I see it as $0.99 at the US store)

Quote:
Product Description
Is it possible to tell a tall tale in as few as thirty words? That would require a limerick, a five-line rhyming cartoon in words. In this case fifty-three tiny capsule science fiction stories to make you smile.

A hot little androidal miss
Who jets off her steam with a hiss
Is made out of junk
And is very steam punk
So she’s much too risky to kiss

The original edition was yanked and a new one popped up, also free, with a new ASIN. Was supposed to fix some formatting issues. A couple of days later, the new one was yanked, also. Most likely the publisher found more issues and hasn't figured out yet how to simply update the edition they have on file and let Amazon use the ASIN update tool to let everyone have the new version (which they have nicely automated if the publisher notifies them, it appears).
