I ordered mine and chose the cheapest shipping option to Canada (Oakville). They said it would arrive in 6 weeks.

It arrived in 3 days. Here's the shipping info. Notice the inexplicable 1 hour and 18 minute trip from Kentucky to Mississauga - normally a 3-4 hour flight. I thought this could be accounted for by the timechange, but the time change is in the opposite direction, so this only took 18 minutes they aren't standardizing the time.

3 theories:
1) They've recommissioned concorde jets and use these to deliver packages
2) They stole an F-16 from the US air force and use these to deliver packages
3) They use wormhole technology to deliver packages.

My bet is on number 3, as it cleared customs a day after I had it in my hands. Anyways, to answer your question, they are lying. 6 weeks means 3 days.

I think we should add one more theory, it's sold out. That's if I'm to believe that's the case with the international version (i.e outside of the US/UK) of the Kindle.

http://kindlewriters.com/2010/11/20/...hristmas-2010/

Which leads me to another question...what's the difference between the international and US versions of the device? Is it supplies for the rest of the world?...is it the adapters???

Well at least I'll have the case.

I appreciate everyone's input!

I'm probably going to order one to be delivered to my Brothers place in Texas, which I'm going to be visiting in January.

I had a peek at the Kobo the other day, as well as one of the Sony's, and my Brother was discussing the Nook with me.

Alas, Barnes and Noble doesn't sell much to Canada, the Sony is half again the price, the Kobo is slow, so I'm going to be patient and get the Kindle.

Someone at work suggested I just pay a bit extra and get an Ipad, but we looked at the price point difference, and $600-ish is much different that $150-ish.

Thanks for all the input!
