If they exempted films and music, they might have better luck freeing up the other media from endless extensions.

Public Domain Day is Live
Books published in 1923, like The Inimitable Jeeves and Leave it to Psmith by P. G. Wodehouse (1881-1975) have been in the U.S. public domain, at least in Guam, for 11 hours and 22 minutes. So I think we can officially say that:
1. The deep state, or the powers that be, or whatever you want to call it, will not always extend copyright. 2. The U.S. continues to disrespect, with duplicity, the Life + 50 Berne Convention, despite insisting that other nations like Canada go to Life + 70. Gutenberg already has Gibran's The Prophet available! That was fast.
Looking forward to nice ebooks of Sabatini's Fortune's Fool and Burroughs' Tarzan and the Golden Lion. So how does this affect magazine-published stories? Do we have a new treasure box of pulp fiction to play with? |

However, I think you are correct that they are currently public domain in the United States. |
