As I've mentioned before, books in Jeri Westerson's Crispin Guest series used to be pretty reasonably priced many many years ago, but are pretty expensive these days. But they do occasionally go on sale...

There have been several fairly recent price drops on early titles in Fiona Buckley's (pen name for Valerie Anand) Ursula Blanchard series, which is one of my really favorite historical series. But one whose titles are mostly very very expensive when not on sale - although with patience you can eventually get them all, in the US at least. (Several of the older ones seem not to be available in e-book in the UK.) All are $1.99 each, except the first, which is $2.99.

To Shield the Queen, #1, apa The Robsart Mystery
Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BOTY2JQ
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/to-shield-the-queen

The Doublet Affair, #2

A Pawn for a Queen, #6

The Fugitive Queen, #7

Crunch Time is the sixteenth Goldy Schulz book by Diane Mott Davidson. It's on sale at Kindle US for $1.99 right now, but sadly not on sale at Kobo US, at least as of now...

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004GUSHXC
Kobo US (for price check): https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/crunch-time-2

Spoiler:
Quote:
No one cooks up a tastier stew of murder, mystery, and mayhem than New York Times bestselling author Diana Mott Davidson. Entertainment Weekly calls her “today’s foremost practitioner of the culinary whodunit.” And now it’s Crunch Time, as Davidson’s delightful series protagonist, caterer and amateur sleuth-extraordinaire Goldy Schulz, digs into a deadly smorgasbord that includes a heaping helping of murder, a double dose of arson…and nine adorable beagle puppies!

Medicus is £0.99 at Kindle UK right now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B659FYD

And the rest of the series, except for the last one, are £2.99, so if you like the first one, you don't have to go broke to read more .

It goes up and down in price a bit, but rarely as low as $0.99, which is what it is priced right now at both Kindle and Kobo US. If you have wanted to try this series and like to read in order, this would be a good time to grab this one...

Emma Jameson's Untrue Blue is on sale right now in the US ($0.99) and UK (£0.78), and discountable at Kobo. I haven't read this one, but have read and liked all the others in the series...

Quote:
"Tony, something’s wrong inside the Met. It’s upside down. Like looking at the skyline and seeing Elizabeth Tower on her head. You sense it, don’t you?”

For Lord Anthony Hetheridge, this wet April should be full of promise. His wife, Kate, is on bedrest for her final month of pregnancy, and his friend DI Deepal "Paul" Bhar's firstborn, a darling baby girl, has already arrived. Wellegrave House is restored and the Hetheridges are back where they belong, in the heart of Mayfair. But inside Scotland Yard, the institution Tony served for so many years, something is very wrong.

When the body of Tony's former protege, DC Amelia Gulls, is found murdered in her flat, suspicion immediately falls on her boyfriend, DC Sean Kincaid. And when Paul calls in Tony to assist with the investigation, they turn up more questions than answers. Before her death, Gulls was working on three cold cases: a kept woman hurled out the window of her fourth-floor love nest, a uni student who drowned in the Thames, and a retired detective's drug-addicted son found dead under a tree. As Tony probes these seemingly unsolvable cases, he draws closer to a shocking truth--and a dangerous reckoning.

UNTRUE BLUE is the seventh book in the ongoing Lord & Lady Hetheridge Mystery Series. The series' first omnibus, DEADLY TRIO, appeared on both the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists, and all the books have made appearances, often at #1, on Kindle bestseller lists. The author, Emma Jameson, would like to take this opportunity to once again to thank her readers for their lovely messages of support. The most common question she's asked is, "Will you keep writing Lord & Lady Hetheridge books?" The answer is a resounding yes.

And the first book in the series, Ice Blue, has really become almost a permanent freebie, except not at Kobo UK right now...

Peter Tremayne is one of the best loved writers of historical mysteries, his novels and stories published in over a dozen countries around the world. An Ensuing Evil collects for the first time fourteen of his historical mysteries ranging in time and place from 7th-century Ireland (featuring his best known sleuth, Fidelma of Cashel) and 8th-century Scotland (featuring the real-life Macbeth) to the recent history of Victorian England and beyond. These fourteen tales of murder, mayhem and mystery each display Tremayne's usual mix of compelling historical detail about the time period and a baffling puzzle that will delight and confound his ever-growning legion of fans.

Faye Longchamp, back in school to pursue her dream of becoming an archaeologist, has been asked to run a project for which she is barely qualified, under the direction of a man who doesn't seem to like her much. Her assignment: to uncover the origins of a mysterious ethnic group. The Sujosa have lived in Alabama's most remote hills for centuries and have shown impressive immunity to many diseases…including AIDS.

Late one night, Faye awakes to find the house in flames. She saves herself and one of her housemates. But her friend Carmen, the project historian, never had a chance. Within days, an 18-year-old boy jumps from a cell phone tower that, when completed, would connect the outside world to the Sujosa community. Are these events somehow related?
