Lighting a candle for Aunt Lorraine, my husband's aunt. We will travel later this week to attend her funeral. 2 of our grown kids will also drive the 3.5 hours to where she lived because they loved visiting her when they were young.

Lorraine was 88, and just a terrific lady. Strong, welcoming to anyone, nothing phased her, not 3 different battles with cancer, losing her husband a few years ago, nothing. This last year was such a challenge for her as she lost her independence due to cancer and many small strokes.

We had a nice visit with her in March. The family is really going to miss her, she was truly the center of a large extended family. It's so hard to see our older generation pass away.
