I have tried the terminal to change the read only permissions to read and write. Both within the kindle (terminal) and on my Linux distro (Ubuntu).

I have tried chmod and though it acts as if it has succeed the files are still read only. I have even tried regular old sudo to no avail.

Can someone help me?
