Isn't "War and Peace" the poster child for chonky doorstops?

Like, I read an abridged version that was like 1500 pages years ago.

EDIT: I'm seeing ~587k words for War and Peace. By comparison the Harry Potter books are a bit under 1.1 million words combined. The entire Lord of the Rings series including The Hobbit is ~565k words.
