The current recipe includes an ad in almost every article. The ad section is titled "on supporting science journalism" and begins with "If you are enjoying this article…"
Another possible improvement is to repeat the title from TOC at the beginning of each article. For example "Why feathers are one of evolution's cleverest inventions" currently does not appear as the title at the top of article.
