Today I had two medical appointments. This morning was a session with my Orthotics fitter to pick up my custom shoes (which include a brace for the left ankle). The afternoon was a trip to the Retina specialist for this month's eye injections (both eyes ugh).
I'm going to have to transition slowly to the shoes, from the fitted boot I've worn for the last three years. Reckon I'll start trying it tomorrow evening. The shoe is a whole lot lighter than the boot. The shoe is just under 20oz; the boot just under 48 oz. The shoe is a modified New Balance 928; with the left shoe made about 1/4" wider than the left (sole cut in half and extension added in).
The eye shots are part of an ongoing treatment for Diabetic Macular Edema; it's expected to be an 18 month series of monthly shots (Lucentis). Luckily I'm enrolled in a study to see if the duration / frequently can be adjusted, with the side benefit being that the drug company covers whatever my insurance does not cover
