I wanted to clear out a couple of other books first, but I've finally started my reread and indeed I missed a lot, including the reference to the "second and altogether stranger part of the poem." Most think the first part is strange enough! As with others, I can't bring any real understanding to the poem, but I love the rhythm of it and the imagerie and the impact of the individual lines, even if they don't all quite hang together for me.
