My Glo's 'background' doesn't look the least bit blue no matter the light level. The light is also extremely even. In fact it's much much better in both respects than I had expected before getting it.

I think the goodereader guys must have got a bum unit.

My sole complaint with the device is the light doesn't go quite low enough: it's actually better for daytime reading - where the light makes the screen look much better - than for in bed, when it's too bright to be comfortable imo.
